2018 Walleye Opener maybe a bust!!!

North of Merrill the Northwood’s is still deep in winter. Nights down to single digits and two feet of snow still on the ground. Big thing is ice is still at 30 inches and with the fresh snow we have no shoreline erosion. This translates to the ground hog 6 more weeks to launch a boat. Really… don’t count on open water for the opener. I doubt at this time if it will happen. Make your first choice the river and have a lake backup plan. Think the only opener I will look at will be the musky opener at the end of May.

Season Almost Here!
