CUSTOMIZING YOUR TRIP

You probably have heard the saying: “A bad day of fishing is BETTER than your BEST day at work“.  Keeping this in mind, it is my goal to improve that metafore by giving you, your
“BEST DAY OF FISHING

YOU WILL FIND THE IMPORTANT BOOKING FORM AND POLICIES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!

MISSION STATEMENT

I will make every effort to give each person(s) who enters my boat; a day of fun, excitement, fulfilling the goal as intended, and to just make it one of your “Best Days of Fishing”. A day you will want to repeat. I want to meet your expectations

Although I am based in Eagle River, WI; I do not call any particular body of water HOME. This would be bias and unfair to you based on your fishing objective. I have several fishing locations that will be available, based on your interest and personal desire. What are you fishing for? What is your style of fishing? What is your goal and purpose?   I have three basic categories that I can customize your trip from.

 1) Specific Species (trophy or limits)

       *  Walleye *    * Panfish

If you are looking to catch a particular species of fish and you are looking to catch a trophy or a heavy limit, I will have a lake or river planned in the area upon your arrival. Rather than choosing a specific lake, months in advance, I would like to increase your chances of success by having known conditions at a specific location for the time you arrive.

Specific Water: vacationing at a resort or pre-tournament fishing

If you are staying at a resort which is on a specific body of water, just visiting, or a situation existed that you chose a body of water (i.e. pre-fishing for a tournament) I can help. Taking fishing facts at the time and possible knowledge of the lake we will fish together to meet that particular need. (Remember: if you are pre-tournament fishing, make sure your tournament rules allow fishing with a guide and you are not fishing in a closed period). Normally this type of fishing is more research than catching. This would include: locating structure, finding fish, and understanding area conditions, etc.

Novice Fishing or Family Fun

If you are looking for a day of relaxation for yourself, with the family, or with a friend, I can customize your day accordingly. Perhaps just a day of fishing for panfish or what ever is biting best at the time is what we can do. (Our largest party accommodations should not exceed 2 adults and 1 youth). Larger parties will possibly require a second boat and guide which I can arrange.

One thing I really enjoy is teaching fishing. If you are a novice or beginner, I will explain fishing techniques, i.e., how to do a figure 8 for muskies. How to use a Carolina rig. When do you jig and when do you cast. Flipping and Pitching for bass, and the list goes on. I want you to catch fish but I also want you to learn something about fishing as well.

YOUR PERSONAL DAILY PLANNER FOR CUSTOMIZING

No matter what your angling purpose, your day can be customized to meet your needs and your budget. We can fish a full day (8 hours) or half day (4 hours, morning or afternoon). I can provide fishing tackle (rods, reels, lures and bait), or you can bring your own. I can provide a mid day break for lunch providing a (box lunch, shore lunch), or if possible a stop at restaurant on or near our water.

I will always have an assortment of floatation vests which are available for those who come aboard. If you have your own Coast Guard Approve vest you may bring it. Always provided will be refreshments (water & soda) and sun screen. I will also have a landing net sized for the fish we are out to catch.

SO HOW DO WE SETUP A FISHING TIME?

After hearing the needs and desires of many anglers I am expanding my fishing times to meet your needs. You will find a fishing time listed below that should meet your request.

1) FULL DAY

A Full Day of fishing is a great way of getting a complete day of fishing. In a Full Day you will receive 8 hours on the water of fishing fun and excitement. During the midday we will take a shoreline break for lunch. Lunch options are listed below. Generally fishing times associated with this are being on the water by 8 a.m. and picking up by 4:30 p.m. This however can be modified to an earlier or later start to meet your request.

2) HALF DAY

A Half Day maybe more for the novice or beginner, or someone with a tight schedule. Here you will receive 4 hours of on the water fishing and it is not as tiring as a full day. A Half Day can either be a morning or evening request. No meals would be planned for a Half Day, but feel free to bring some snacks if you would like.

3) SPLIT DAY

A Split Day  introduced by me in 2005… it has become a THE MOST popular ticket for the months of June, July, and August, when our days are much longer. This outing is very popular with the serious minded fisherman. In a Split Day we will fish 4 hours in the early morning (start at daybreak) then fish 4 hours in the late evening (the last hours before dusk). Fishing a Split Day can allow you to fish one lake in the morning and another in the evening. It will also allow you to fish for Different fish. (Example) Fishing on Lake “X” from 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. for walleye then go back out on Lake “Y” from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for musky. Or you can fish the same lake early and the same lake in the evening. What this does is allows you to fish the better “PRIME TIME” with less fishing pressures. It also allows you some midday break of about three hours time to perhaps hit the pool or do some shopping or even take a quick nap. The mid-day break gets you out of the sun when it is the highest and warmest time.

4) FAMILY SHIFT DAY

In a Family Shift Day this will give a larger family time with one guide and still fish safely. Fishing just like a full day when we come in for lunch we can change out and shift members who were left behind in the morning session. (Example) Dad takes out his two boys in the morning, when we come in for lunch, mom meets us at the launch with the two daughter and we shift parties. A Family Shift Day is treated just like a Full Day only we shift people on the lunch break.

5) NIGHT FISHING

Fishing at Night is a unique experience and can be extremely exciting. Generally targeted for Muskies or Walleye this is a serious time to fish as trophies in both categories and be caught. Fishing 4 hours Night Fishing will start 1/2 hour before dusk and will go well into the dark hours. I have specialized lakes that are extra clear and are very good night lakes for both Muskies & Walleyes.

6) EARLY MORNING

Early Morning Fishing is not as popular but just as successful as Night Fishing. Early Morning Fishing is done in reverse to Night Fishing. Starting 3-1/2 hours before Sunrise this will give you a long day. You will need to be an early riser as in our midsummer we could be on the water as early as 2:30 am fishing to sunrise.

7) EXTRA HOURS

If the fishing is good or you would just like to add some additional time, if my slot is open I will add more time. Additional hourly rates will apply.

 8) Discount Packages Specials (2 or 3 Days or more)

Based on client request for the new fishing season I will introduce multi-day specials. For any two, three, or more consecutive days I will offer a discount savings based on the number of days you fish. On a two day package I will offer a 5% discount on your second day. On a three day package I will offer a 10% discount on the third and every day after. Booking days need to be of same value.

Discounts do not apply to lunch packages or bait.

This is a GREAT opportunity if you would like to fish for walleye one day, muskies the next, maybe bass or panfish. It will give you an opportunity to fish different bodies of water as well. CUSTOMIZING YOUR DAY IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO!!! SO PLEASE ASK AND I WILL BUILD YOU A SPECIAL PACKAGE!

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING

Personal gear is a must. Proper clothing to meet weather conditions is IMPORTANT. You can always take off clothing if you are warm, but if you are cold and do not have something to put on top, you loose the enjoyment. Always bring a rain suit, as this is a condition that can change at any time. A good rain suit can keep you dry but provide warmth as well as a wind break.  Polarized sunglasses and a hat with a brim are important; they keep the sun off of you and remove the glare on the water for seeing fish. Most important would be a good digital camera or one with fresh film, I most always have my camera with as a back up an will email all pictures to you. On some request I will even feature you on a special video (DVD) from “Back on the Water” Video Productions.

Certain necessities are important whether fishing with or without your tackle you need to STREAMLINE your equipment. Bring the things you NEED and leave the rest in the cabin or car. Multiple rods and tackle boxes many not be necessary and will only get in the way. And they will get in the way just when you have that trophy on, “Murphy’s Law”.

Contact me and we will discuss your needs and I will do my best to meet your request.
